Mohamed Bangura

Driven by a desire to modernize and bring high business standards and modern industry to his native continent, Mohamed is the co-founder of UKA Consultancy.

Born in Sierra Leone and educated there and in The Gambia he moved to the UK gaining a degree in Politics & Business Management from the University of West of England.

Following experience in recruitment, media and construction he became a successful entrepreneur as the cofounder of two UK based businesses Aston Select Ltd and BBO Recruitment Ltd.

He builds successful working relationships in Europe and Africa, facilitating organization’s interests on the ground, with clients ranging from SME’s to large multinationals in key industries such as telecoms, engineering, construction, financial services, fintech, pharma, FMCG, IT and Media.

Mohamed is a strategist who brings a focused, detail driven approach to his clients plus a burning desire to play an important part in Africa’s social and economic development.

Yusif Lamin Conteh

Co-founder and Regional Director for Africa, Yusif has extensive knowledge and experience in International businesses management in Africa.

He holds a Masters degree in Management with a special focus on International Business Management from State University of Malang, Indonesia and a BA in Philosophy and Political Science from Fourah Bay College, University of Sierra Leone.

Yusif has worked extensively in management with a number of clients including China Henan International Cooperation Group and SALCOST. His first hand, local experience ensures a fast track for companies entering new territories.

A Professional Legal Consultant with an interest in corporate affairs, business formation and registration. Yayah has a background in business policy analyses and partnerships, executive research, writing and executive presentation skills.

Yayah brings local legal expertise and advice to UKA clients expanding into West Africa.

Abu Salam Jalloh

An experienced Energy Engineer with over 7 years working for the Sierra Leone Ministry of Energy.

Abu also holds a Masters in Sustainable Energy Technologies and Management from Brunel University, UK.

A proven team leader in the field and academia, Abu has extensive experience working within the renewable energy sector for both local and international energy companies.

With the energy and engineering sectors in Africa offering massive opportunities for western companies his hands-on experience in local conditions is a real enabler for new entrants.

Irene Dallas

Irene was formerly a litigation partner at Herbert Smith in London. She set up her own practice in 2003 offering advice on international commercial agreements, litigation, dispute resolution and arbitration.

Her experience includes providing advice to a broad range of industry sectors across the globe including oil and gas, mining, minerals, power and aviation.

Her clients include large corporates, owner managed businesses and state companies from many different parts of the world including the U.S. Europe, EMEA and the former Soviet Union.

Steph Mekwuye – Founder and CEO of Eka Consults

A strategist at heart, quick thinker, actualises of ideas and intellectual creative.

A Law graduate from the South of England, winning an award for best dissertation in law.

Her dissertation centered on peer-to-peer (p2p) file sharing technologies, the protection of businesses, individual privacy and the policing of illegal downloads. Finding the right balance between the individual, the economy and the state was the core of her analysis.

As the world grapples with the social impact of emerging technologies, and the changes this era brings to cultures, traditions, and its immediate impact, Steph’s understanding of the subject comes into play.

She concerned about the social shifts and impact on society by the technological era and how to better integrate these changes in societies, especially in the African society.

Her interest lies in Technology, Innovations, Education, Health, Regulations, Energy, Agricultural Travel, and Construction sectors

Lawrence Leelasena FCMA, MBA, AI (SAID Business School, Oxford)

Lawrence has over 20 years in finance and business transformation working for Fortune 500 and FTSE 100 companies in technology, manufacturing and FMCG in Europe and Asia Pacific focusing on improving business performance through reorganisation, market expansion , acquisitions and divestitures and new business models.

Lawrence has a keen interest in technology and has consulted on a number of start-ups ranging from commercial pilot certification, e-commerce and SaaS .He has valued companies for flotation on the stock exchange and advised larger and small businesses to prepare for investor presentations.

Lawrence is passionate about Africa having spent his childhood in Malawi.
